Do you test your products on animals?

Absolutely not! We are accredited by Choose Cruelty Free (CCF) as a company that does not test on animals.

How much does postage cost?

Postage throughout Sydney is a flat rate of $10.00. All other areas in Australia are charged at a flat rate of $12. International postage is calculated at $16AUD per item

What types of preservatives are used in my utopia products?

We use only use botanical based preservatives. This means our products are free from petrochemicals and other synthetic fragrances. Natural rosemary extract is used to prevent oxidization of our oil-based ingredients. Grapefruit Seed Extract is used to preserve our water-based ingredients from bacteria and fungal growth. In addition, where our products contain water or are very likely to come into contact with water, we also use a very mild, extremely gentle and effective natural preservative derived from rosemary. In addition to this my utopia uses a combination of essential oils which have preserving properties.

Does your shampoo contain sulphates?

No, our shampoo contains no sulphates and is completely natural. Out shampoo will not foam as much as commercial brands however it will clean as well, if not better leaving you hair in peak condition … naturally. A tip – when making the transition to natural, sulphate free formulations please keep in mind that your hair will be full of residue from the chemical formulations you have been using so it may take a short time for your hair to fell soft & shiny.

What type of skin is my utopia good for?

my utopia products can help you cope with many skin imbalances and conditions – tightness and flakiness associated with dry skin; over-reactivity of sensitive types; dullness of combination skin; excess shine and blemishes of oily skin and problematic skin as well as the sudden loss of essential moisture, typical of dehydrated skin.

Do my utopia products contain SPF protection?

No, they do not contain an SPF however adding a small amount of your favourite sunscreen (best if you use a natural sunscreen) will offer all the protection you need. We recommend nothing less or more than an SPF 30, 365 days of the year. You can never have too much protection!

I have such a difficult time finding products that don't make my skin break out?
Will yours do this?

As we use pure, botanical ingredients the chance of break-outs are significantly reduced. The pore-clogging oils that are commonly found in skin care lines out on the market and can potentially cause the skin to break out. The oils & emollients that we refuse to use are: Mineral Oil, Petrolatum (Petroleum), Isopropyl Myristate and Isopropyl Palmitate. We specialise in sensitive skin, so you can know that are products are the least likely to cause your skin to break out.

My skin is healthy - what steps can I take to maintain it in peak condition?

It is important that you look after your healthy skin. Looking after your skin is not difficult, time consuming or expensive. Simple but gentle cleansing with a nourishing cleanser suitable for your skin followed by the use of a toner and quality moisturiser is key to healthy and vibrant skin. Also, don't forget your sunscreen!

Does my utopia send samples?

Samples are provided free of charge with new orders or on their own for existing customer.

Will using your moisturisers or the rejuvenating cleansing oil on my face clog my pores and make me breakout?

Absolutely Not! Dehydration of the skin produces oil. Oil produces acne, breakouts, etc.
You need to keep the skin at the right level of moisture to prevent excess oil. Almost every skin problem, (acne, wrinkles, rosacea, whiteheads, blackheads, oily/combination skin, etc.) can be attributed to lack of moisture in the skin.

Will my utopia products leave my skin feeling greasy?

No. As we are vegan, we do not use either lanolin or beeswax in our formulations. The primary natural and botanical ingredients used allow the skin to breathe and do not leave the skin feeling greasy.

Do I need to use large quantities of product?

No. In fact the opposite is true. You only need to use a small amount of my utopia products, which makes them very good value for money.

Does a cleanser need to foam and lather to cleanse?

No. A cleanser does not need to foam and lather in order to cleanse the skin. Indeed the amount of foaming and lathering usually indicates higher concentrations of surfactants and therefore can be more drying to the skin. Our products contain NO chemical surfactants.

What is the suggested shelf life of the products?

We recommend that my utopia products be used within 12 months of purchase. We also advise that in warm and tropical climates, products be kept in the refrigerator. This is due to the essential fatty acids such as evening primrose and rosehip oils contained in our products.

Do you make products for other companies?

No. my utopia produces and distributes its own label exclusively. In this way we can guarantee the quality and purity of our ingredients to all our clients.

How do we sell our products at prices that are a fraction of competing creams?

Let us assure you that it is not because we use inexpensive ingredients. In fact, it costs much more to make an pot of our cream than to make a pot of many well know and much more expensive creams. The difference is that we have a philosophy that a satisfied user will be a long term user. Just like our creams that are immediately effective and yet a long term solution to supple, hydrated skin, we look for immediate plus long run effectiveness. We are not interested in being a company that looks to the quick fix or to the quick buck. Our customers are our friends and supporters so we believe in taking good care of our them with superior products, superior ingredients & service.

Is there a my utopia retail outlet?

Not at this stage. Being a new business we aim to keep our costs low and our product range dynamic so at this time we are only available on-line. Of course, our own little shop is certainly a long-term goal!
